Aapke phone par jo chhota sa notification aata hai — WhatsApp ka message, Gmail ka alert, ya Signal ki nayi chat — woh bhi ab safe nahi raha. Naye reports ke mutabiq, FBI aur dusre law enforcement agencies aapke push notifications ko spy kar sakti hain. WIRED ki ek fresh report mein yeh baat saamne aayi hai. Seedhi baat hai: aapka phone aapke saath hi nahi, aapke against bhi kaam kar sakta hai.
Push Notification Spy Kya Hai? Seedha Matlab Samjhiye
Jab bhi aapko koi app notification bhejti hai, woh seedha aapke phone par nahi aata. Pehle woh Google (Android ke liye) ya Apple (iPhone ke liye) ke servers se guzarta hai. Phir woh server aapke device ko us notification ko dikhane ka signal bhejta hai. Is pure process mein, tech companies ke paas metadata reh jaati hai.
Yeh metadata kya hoti hai? Sender ka detail, receiver ka detail, notification ka exact time, aur kabhi-kabhi message ka preview bhi. Aapke Liye Kya Risk Hai? Kaunsi Apps Safe Nahin?

- Social Media: Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter)

Problem yeh hai ki notification system ka design hi aisa hai. App developers ispe control nahi rakhte. Yeh Google aur Apple ke platform ka hissa hai. Agar aap end-to-end encrypted app bhi use kar rahe hain, toh bhi notification unencrypted form mein tech giants ke servers par jaata hai.
Tech Companies Ka Response Kya Raha Hai?
Abhi tak kisi company ne officially is practice ko confirm nahi kiya hai. Lekin Senator Wyden ke letter ke baad, Apple ne ek statement diya. Unhone kaha ki woh Wyden ke concerns ko sambhaal rahe hain aur future iOS updates mein transparency badhayenge. Google ne bhi kaha ki woh Wyden ki office se baat karenge.
Lekin asal sawal yeh hai: kya companies is data ko dene se rok sakti hain? Legal experts kehte hain, agar court ka warrant hai, toh companies ko data dena hi padta hai. Woh issey bach nahi sakti.
Hamaari Baat: Privacy Ka Daura Khatam Ho Raha Hai
