Is transfer se pehle, yeh important post vacant tha, jiska matlab tha ki crime department ke upar koi senior officer directly nazar nahi rakh raha tha.

Yeh koi pehla action nahi hai. Election Commission pichle kuch hafton se West Bengal mein officers ki posting badal raha hai. Jagran ki ek report ke mutabiq, Commission ne pehle hi 13 IAS officers ka reshuffle kar diya tha aur 11 districts ke District Magistrates ko badla tha. Iska maksad yeh hota hai ki election process impartial aur fair tareeke se ho.
Police department mein bhi isse pehle badlav aaye hain. Jagran ki ek alag report ke mutabiq, Rajeev Kumar ki jagah Piyush Pandey ko Bengal ka naya acting DGP banaaya gaya tha. DD News ne bhi confirm kiya ki Election Commission ne Siddh Nath Gupta ko West Bengal ka naya DGP appoint kiya tha.
Hamaari Baat: Election Time Ka Standard Practice Hai, Lekin...
Seedhi baat karein toh, election se pehle officers ka transfer Election Commission ka standard practice hai. Commission chahta hai ki koi bhi officer ek jagah par itna time na bitaaye ki uski local politics se familiarity ya bias ban jaaye. Isliye neutral officers ko important posts par lagaya jaata hai.
Lekin, hamari nazar mein, ek important point hai. Kolkata Police ke Joint CP Crime ka post 16 mahine se khali tha. Yeh ek serious administrative lapse tha. Crime department ke upar koi senior supervision nahi tha itne lambe time tak. Election Commission ka action is vacancy ko toh bhar dega, lekin sawal yeh hai ki aise important posts pehle hi kyun khali chhod diye jaate hain? Administration ka kaam hai ki aisi posts pe constant vigilance rahe. Election time par hi in gaps ko bharne ki zaroorat nahi honi chahiye. Voters ko bhi sochna chahiye ki jo force unki rozana security ke liye zimmedar hai, uske top posts agar khali padhe hain toh wo kaise kaam karegi? Election ke baad bhi in posts par dhyaan dena chahiye.
